Spending time around difficult people somehow changes the way time works. Five minutes starts feeling like half a workday, and by the end of one conversation, you're convinced at least 80 years have passed. You check the clock expecting it to be tomorrow, only to discover it's been an hour. Cats have the right idea. The moment something becomes too exhausting, they simply walk away, find a sunny spot, and pretend the nonsense no longer exists.

Nothing fixes a long day with difficult people quite like coming home to a cat. They don't ask how the meeting went, they don't need a recap of the drama, and they definitely aren't interested in office politics. They just curl up beside you, start purring, and somehow make the whole day feel a little less exhausting. A warm cat on your lap is probably the closest thing there is to hitting a reset button after dealing with too much human nonsense.

Sometimes the only thing keeping the day moving is pure, unfiltered spite. You don't want to give the person who annoyed you the satisfaction of ruining your mood, so you power through anyway. Before you know it, you've cleaned the house, answered every email, finished three extra tasks, and somehow turned frustration into productivity. It may not be the healthiest source of motivation, but every once in a while, it gets surprisingly impressive results.
